(A Mission Statement)
Why in the world would I do this? I am going to blog? Why throw myself to the wolves of public scrutiny, who aren’t particularly picky, but rather hangry for those Riding Hood/Pollyanna types, with their cheerful dispositions and basket full of fresh muffins? Why would anyone?
- Because we are all part Big Bad Wolf and part Riding Hood (I have been know to be extra Hood on more than one occasion).
- Because being human means we are made just like every other human, and, simultaneously, nothing like any other human.
- Because every time we connect to other humans, we have the potential to learn, help, heal, care, thrive, love, and change. We also have uglier potentials.
- Because I want to make a difference, be part of the solution, love those who feel unlovable, and make sure that we “know who we are, we are stars and we see that, we’re all in this together, and it shows when we stand, hand in hand, make our dreams come true.”
- Because if you are not already humming the theme song for High School Musical, we can still be friends, but I will hate bursting into song and dance alone.

So, here I am, blogging like a Wildcat in a world of rabid alpha dog bloggers. Maybe I am less like a Wildcat and more like Wolverine. I mean what is Wolverine? Some kind of dog/cat hybrid? Yes, I will be Wolverine. Wolverine, like Troy Bolton, brings people together, understands his strengths and weaknesses, and turns weaknesses into strengths. Like all Epic Heroes, we all want evil to lose and good to win. Don’t we?
So then, what, am I some kind of hero? Not even a little bit. I am just a normal, middle-aged mom, teacher, grandma, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, enemy, sinful Christian, human. I am human. And I want to do life with other humans. Inspire me and I will try to inspire you, too.
At 40 something years of age, it would never have occurred to me that everything I have learned so far could be summed up in two words: Troy Bolton. I know, cringey isn’t it? But before you judge me, and I already feel judged, let me convince you of the one thing I know for sure, Troy Bolton got it right. We will never get through this crazy life without our friends. Everyone is special in their own way; we make each other strong. Teamwork makes the dream work. And we really are all in this together.
